Common questions
Everything new visitors usually ask, in one place.
Is SkinBoard free?
Yes. The app is free for personal use, with no paywalled features today. If SkinBoard ever introduces a paid tier, it will be opt-in and the current free feature set will stay free.
Is my Steam account safe?
Yes. SkinBoard never sees your Steam password — sign-in goes through Steam OpenID, exactly the same protocol third-party sites like SteamDB use. We can only read public profile info plus your inventory; we cannot trade, list, or otherwise act on your behalf.
Which marketplaces does SkinBoard track?
Steam Community Market, Buff163, Skinport, DMarket, CSFloat, Waxpeer, CS.MONEY, SkinsMonkey, BitSkins, Tradeit, PirateSwap, HaloSkins, and a growing list of others. Each item is matched on its canonical market_hash_name so prices stay aligned across markets.
Does SkinBoard include marketplace fees in its prices?
Yes — both the buy-side and sell-side fees are applied per market. The Cross-Market Arbitrage view sorts by NET spread, after fees, so the "buy here, sell there" list shows your real margin and not a misleading gross-price gap.
How accurate are the prices and ROI numbers?
Prices stream from each marketplace as fast as their public API allows; freshness is shown per row (green dot = updated within 24h, yellow = stale). ROI is computed from your recorded purchase price + fees against the chosen target market — accurate as long as the inputs you logged are accurate.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. The Settings popover has an "Export my data" link that downloads a full JSON dump of every row tied to your account, and a "Delete account" button that permanently erases everything (trades, inventory, history, balances) in a single transaction.
Does it work on mobile?
The dashboard is responsive and runs in any modern mobile browser. A dedicated installable PWA is on the roadmap but the web build covers most phone use today.
Who runs SkinBoard?
One person — a long-time CS2 trader who built the tool for personal use and opened it up. The /about page has the full story and a direct contact path; there is no anonymous team behind the project.
